Scholarships

The Fallbrook Garden Club may award one or more scholarships each year to a graduate of Fallbrook Union High School District or from our local area. Qualified applicants must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.

For 2010, a $2,500 scholarship was awarded to a Cal Poly San Luis Obispo student and two, $500 scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors of Fallbrook Union High School. The committee's 2011 budget has not yet been announced.

Nominees for scholarship awards are selected by the Club’s Scholarship Committee from applications received and are approved by the Board. Selection is based on character, scholarship, aptitude, ability to succeed and financial need.

The recipient must be planning a career in agriculture*, botany, conservation, entomology, environmental studies, floriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture, plant biology, plant genetics, urban planning or a related field.

The student’s selected college or university must have a recognized department in one of the fields specified above.

The scholarship money is sent directly to the selected institution.

Application deadline is April 12.
